About the Authors
* Mr. David Dallmeyer, R.P.T. is a graduate of Loma Linda University. His continuing medical education includes seminars specializing in myofascial release, knee and shoulder rehabilitation and treatment.
A brief review of his past/present work affiliations includes the Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital, Director of Physical Therapy - St. Francis Hospital; Sports and Rehabilitation Therapy and Santa Barbara Fitness Center (owner); and, presently, Dallmeyer Physical Therapy. All of these are in Santa Barbara California. As a lifelong competitive athlete, he is currently coaching and competing in power lifting. He is the 1999 North American Powerlifting Champion "Extra Heavyweight Division", and the 1997 ADFPA, U.S. National Masters Champion - (45 to 49 age) 275-319 weight group. Mr. Dallmeyer has provided specific weight training programs and strength coaching for athletes in the following sports: Powerlifting - Senior National Level; Heptathalon - World Class Level; Track and Field - World Class Level; Rowing - World Class Level; Football - Professional Level; Survival of the Fittest - National Level; Ironman Triathlon - National Event; Western States 100 Mile Run - National Event; and many more. He has been extensively involved in design, implementation, reorganization, and daily management of a variety of physical therapy and fitness businesses. * Mr. Kevin Fisher, D.C., graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West, with post doctoral training in Spine and Extremity Treatment and Special Techniques for Diagnosis & Treatment of Injuries in the Active Individual. Dr. Fisher graduated from Mars Hill College, North Carolina, with a degree in Physical Education. Currently, he is involved with his own chiropractic office and fitness center. He has taught elementary grades up through four year college and specialized in strength and weight training. His competitions in powerlifting started in 1973 and continue through today. Dr. Fisher holds over seven state titles, and was rated in the "Top Ten of Best 220 Pound Class Deadlifters in the World" in 1984. His most current title is Champion at the North American Powerlifting Championships; 220-pound, 40-45 age group.
As a consultant he is affiliated with numerous gyms and fitness centers in the Santa Barbara, CA, area. A former World Class Athlete, currently successful Doctor of Chiropractic, and Physical Educator, he is a nationally sought after speaker and teacher. Dr. Fisher is a continuing education instructor for the Sports Physician Program for Palmer Chiropractic College and earned a Sports Physician Degree. * Mr. Scott Wenz, M.A., is a graduate of California State University - Long Beach, CA, with a double major, and completed his graduate work at University of California, Santa Barbara, in Exercise Physiology. Continuing education includes seminars in sports skills and strength training, research methods, and advanced topics in fitness and body composition analysis.
His teaching background includes instruction from preschool to the four year college level (and involves coaching experience in football, tennis, and swimming). In the late 1970's, he was one of the first personal trainers working in the Santa Barbara area. He is also a former swim/tennis club manager and has taught tennis professionally. He is presently developing/marketing health and fitness related software, and has done research in body composition analysis using nuclear magnetic resonance and bio-impedance technology. Mr. Wenz has been listed in Who's Who in American Education, is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and a former 20 year member of the American Alliance for Health Physical Education, Recreation & Dance.
